Party like a rock star.

This weekend was the party.  The much anticipated, much talked about rock star birthday party.  My little rock star will be five in just a few short days and this weekend we celebrated.  Her theme of choice this year a rock star star concert with zebra print.  Not sure where she got the idea...but we rolled with it!

I admit I have a problem.  I get a bit carried away with the details...Most would think it is over-the-top...but to me, this is the best way I know how to celebrate the best thing that has ever happened to me...

We sent the invites...

Rolled out the PINK carpet...

Made the favors...
We moved out the furniture to make room for a custom rock star table...fit for 16 little rock stars!

Each place setting was marked with a custom microphone for each rock star...

Loved these sauce bottles...kept everything mess-free!

Custom guitar picks as confetti {super cute but so hard to make}...
I can take very little credit for the cake.  While I sketched the design, I wouldn't even know where to begin with creating this masterpiece...

Dressed the diva...

Detail and diva pictures done...now it was time for the party to begin...enter friends...

Sorry, ladies, he's taken...we're busy planning a Spring 2030 wedding...ok...not really but would love the in-laws {and he is really stinkin' cute}!

Organized chaos {and a lot of noise}...

The candles were lit and it was time to sing to the birthday girl.  This is her favorite part of the party every year.  It has become tradition to sit her next to the cake but as she is getting older {and bigger}, I wonder how much longer this tradition can last...she will probably tell me by age 7 that she is too old and cool {or whatever the cool word is now}...but for now this tradition is perfect...
Don't laugh...you try to get a picture of 16 kids {most under the age of 5 and try to get them to smile}...

And so the party was over...my girl was in her jammies and there was still a huge smile on her face.  If success is measured by smiles than this party was the best event, yet!

All I have to say is I am exhausted and have way more excitement in the coming days...
My Dad is coming into town from South Carolina on Wednesday...our niece, Hailey,  is coming into town from Maine Thursday {on her birthday}...Kayla's birthday is Friday...the Buddy Walk is Sunday...

Lots to clean and plan and create...more to come next week...

For now I am happy and fulfilled and trying to soak up every second with my still 4-year-old while I can.  Life is great, we're partying like rock stars and I'm enjoying every second that I can...what could be more perfect?

  5. This...is...AWESOME!! We're doing a Rockstar Princess theme for my daughter for her first birthday party in January 2014 and I love this. Do you mind if I use some of these ideas? I know some people get kinda weird about people copying them, but I feel imitation is the highest form of flattery. I love all the decorations and the cake most of all! The cake is actually how I found this. Her bows are also super cute!
